OUR PASTOR
In October of 2013, Dr. Orlando McReynolds was elected & accepted the call to pastor First Missionary Baptist Church of Metropolis. Dr. McReynolds came to First Missionary Baptist Church after serving 19 years of pastoral ministry at First Baptist Church of Sheepshead Bay, in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. McReynolds & his wife Dale are not strangers to the area, as both were classmates & graduates of Paducah Tilghman H.S. Additionally, Dr. McReynolds holds a B.S. degree in Business & Radio from Empire State College New York, and both a Masters & Doctorate from Andersonville Baptist Seminary.
OUR CHURCH
Greetings, to each of you from all of us at First Missionary Baptist Church. Our congregation has been serving Christ and the people of this city since 1866.
We love The Lord and enjoy worship, study, fellowship and service together. We see these as means of inspiration and instruction for Christian living. Additionally, we possess a keen sense of our obligation to use the teachings of our faith, as it relates to peace, justice, and reconcilation.
Our church's mission programs are continuous. We feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick, and educate our children and adults. We proclaim that Christ can liberate us from drugs, ignorance, poverty, racism, classism, violance and all other manifestations of sin which separte us from God, the ultimate source of abundant life.
